Picnic Area
Picnic Area: The Franklin Delano Roosevelt (south) unit of Lakeport State Park is a day use area situated one mile south of the camping area and is also adjacent to Lake Huron. Visitors can enjoy the beach, and there are many areas for secluded picnics, bird watching, or just relaxing. The day-use area provides many picnic tables and barbecue grills plus horseshoe pits and volleyball nets. Highway US-25 runs through the park and divides the day use area into two areas. A pedestrian overpass provides the day user access to both these areas.
Picnic Shelter
Picnic Shelter: One picnic shelter located in the day-use area may be rented on a daily basis for group activities and family reunions. The shelter can be reserved up to a year in advance by calling 1-800-447-2757 or visiting www.midnrreservations.com.
Playground
Playground: Both campgrounds have a variety of play equipment for youngsters.
