Pinckney-Potawatomi Trail
More Information
Portions of the Potawatomi Trail will undergo construction in 2025. Improvements will address erosion and require some reroutes. Temporary signage will guide trail users, and online updates will reflect any route changes.
The Potawatomi Trail is the longest trail located in the Pinckney Recreation Area, as it stretches 17.4 miles through the marshes and wetlands of the area. The trail is a great mix of fast and flowy terrain that includes technical climbs and descents. If the length of the trail seems daunting to you, you can also take a shortcut that shortens the hike by 3 miles. The trailhead can be found in the parking area near Silver Lake and travelers must travel clockwise around the trail in order to keep all travelers safe. Mountain biking, hiking and cross-country skiing are permitted along this trail.
