Fishing Item is accessible.
Fishing: Whitefish, perch, northern pike, bass and walleye are plentiful in nearby bays and rivers. A number of designated trout streams are located within a 30-minute drive of the park in the Hiawatha National Forest. Nearby Brimley Bay to the west of the park is a popular fishing location, in addition to Izaak Walton or Mosquito bays to the east of the park.
Metal Detecting Item is accessible.
Metal Detecting: Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that neither damage the natural and cultural resources in Michigan state parks nor violate applicable state statutes. The entire park is open to metal detecting. Any items found must be reviewed by park staff and may be retained for further investigation. Areas located within the campground are limited to registered campers only.

Paddlesports Item is accessible.
Paddlesports: Explore the Lake Superior shoreline. Carry-in launching is permitted from the day-use area beach outside of the designated swim area.
Pet-Friendly Area Item is accessible.
Pet-Friendly Area: Pets are allowed along the Lake Superior shoreline outside of the designated swimming area. Pets must always be on a 6-foot leash and under an owner’s immediate control. All pet waste must be properly disposed of in trash receptacles.

Please be mindful of Great Lakes beach safety. Pay attention to the beach flag warning system in designated swim areas; red flags indicate the water is unsafe and no one should swim in or enter the water. DO NOT swim near or jump off break walls or navigational channel walls and pay attention to changing conditions.

Boat Launch: There is a paved boat ramp located in day-use area; however, there is no courtesy pier or dock, and the launch depth can be shallow due to heavy wave action.

Modern Restrooms Item is accessible.
Modern Restrooms: Modern restrooms, connected to the picnic shelter, are located in the day-use area.
Observation Platform Item is accessible.
Observation Platform: There is a viewing area overlooking Lake Superior and the St. Marys River located in the day-use area and connected to the picnic shelter via a crushed limestone pathway. Visitors enjoy watching passing freighters and the view of Canada across the lake. A viewing telescope is available seasonally.

Picnic Area: Picnic tables and charcoal grills, dispersed in grassy areas throughout the day-use area, are available first come, first served.
Picnic Shelter Item is accessible.
Picnic Shelter: There is an enclosed picnic shelter located in the day-use area that can accommodate up to 100 people and includes picnic tables, two large charcoal grills and electrical outlets. It is connected to the parking lot via a paved pathway. The shelter can be reserved seasonally, typically mid-May to mid-October, coinciding with modern restroom availability. Shelter reservations can be made 12 months in advance at MIDNRReservations.com by calling 1-800-447-2757.

Playground: A playscape structure with a woodchipped surface is located in day-use area and can be accessed from the shelter via a crushed limestone pathway. There are additional playground areas with a swing set and slide located in the day-use area south of the playscape and near the campground.
Sanitation Station Item is accessible.
Sanitation Station: The park’s seasonal sanitation station is located just before the campground entrance. There is potable water available and two lanes. A $10 fee will be assessed for those not camping at Brimley State Park.

Vault Toilet: A vault toilet is available in the day-use area near the modern campground.

Enjoy 2,000 feet of sandy shoreline stretching along Lake Superior. From the shoreline, visitors enjoy watching passing freighters and the view of Canada across the lake.
