Cambridge Junction Historic State Park
More Information
Cambridge Junction State Historic Park, open May through October, is nestled in Michigan’s Irish Hills. The park is home to Walker Tavern, Hewitt House, a reconstructed 1840s barn, an open-air farmers market, vintage baseball games, concerts and more.
In the 1840s, Sylvester Walker's farmhouse tavern was a favorite rest stop for travelers heading west on the Old Chicago Road. Today, the 80-acre park is a popular stop in the heart of the Irish Hills.
The DNR's Michigan History Center manages the historic sites in the park. Visitors will find a permanent exhibit about life along the Chicago Road during the Walkers’ time, an exhibit on early-to-mid-20th century Irish Hills tourist attractions and more. Please allow one to two hours to tour.
Thanks to the Friends of Walker Tavern for supporting the park.
