More Information
Holly State Recreation Area, located within the northern portion of Oakland County between Pontiac and Flint, is less than an hour drive from the Detroit metropolitan area. The park's more than 8,000 acres of rolling woodlands and open fields provide opportunities for a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, boating, disc golf, fishing, mountain biking and much more.
Holly's water park, WhoaZone at Heron Lake, offers two unique courses, where visitors of all ages can climb, jump or slide on easy-to-challenging water obstacles. An additional ticket fee applies.
The nearby Holly Oaks ORV Park utilizes former and active sand and gravel mines, making it a unique destination for all types of ORVs, including full-size vehicles, side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles and ATVs, as well as motorcycles.

About the Area

Rolling woodlands and prairies dominate the landscape of the Holly Woods Disc Golf Course. The course offers nine-, 18- and 24-hole routes, as well as a variety of challenges and fun for all skill levels. The course is open in the winter. Golf discs can be purchased at the campground office.
The Flint Town Flyerz disc golf club sponsors league play nights and a number of tournaments, including Professional Disc Golf Association-sanctioned tournaments.

There are three picnic shelters (Oak Flats and Sunset Ridge are accessible) located in the day-use area that includes picnic tables and charcoal grills. Electrical service is available for those with reservations in both the Oak Flats and Sunset Point shelters. There is no electrical available at the Overlook shelter
