Metal Detecting Item is accessible.
Metal Detecting: Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that do not damage natural and cultural resources in Michigan state parks nor violate applicable state statutes. This park map clearly shows where this activity is allowed to take place. Any items found must be reviewed by park staff and may be retained for further investigation. Areas located within the campground are limited to registered campers only.

Paddlesports: Paddling is a popular activity on Muskegon Lake.
Pet-Friendly Area Item is accessible.
Pet-Friendly Area: Pets are allowed along the Lake Michigan shoreline outside of the designated swimming area (with the exception of marked piping plover nest habitat). Pets must always be on a 6-foot leash and under an owner’s immediate control. All pet waste must be properly disposed of in trash receptacles.

Snowshoeing: Cross-country skiing is a popular activity at the Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park.

Swimming:

A designated swim area is in the park’s day-use area on Lake Michigan. There is an accessible walkway to the water and a beach wheelchair available to use.

Please be mindful of Great Lakes beach safety. Pay attention to the beach flag warning system in designated swim areas; red flags indicate the water is unsafe and no one should swim in or enter the water. DO NOT swim near or jump off break walls or navigational channel walls and pay attention to changing conditions.

Beach House: The beach house is in the day-use area on Lake Michigan and includes restrooms.
Boat Launch Item is accessible.
Boat Launch: A boat launch located in the Snug Harbor day-use area provides access to Muskegon Lake.

Concession/ Store: The Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park sells snacks and slushies, hammocks, frisbees, camping essentials and merchandise.

Luge: An Olympian-designed luge track is available for winter park visitors at the Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park. An additional fee is required.

Observation Platform:

One of the park's popular features is the blockhouse that was orginally built by the CCC in the 1930s to provide opportunities for visitors to see in all directions, including Lake Michigan. It sits on the highest point in Muskegon County.

There is small observation platform that resembles an eagle’s nest located along Lost Lake Trail.

Picnic Area: Picnic tables and grills are in the day-use areas on Lake Michigan and in Snug Harbor. The picnic area in Snug Harbor is accessible.

Picnic Shelter: There are two picnic shelters at Snug Harbor that include picnic tables, charcoal grills and electrical service (Pines Shelter location only). Shelter reservations can be made 12 months in advance at MiDNRReservations.com.

Sanitation Station: A sanitation station is located near both campgrounds. There is potable water available and two lanes.

The park is home to 3 miles of breathtaking shoreline (2 miles along Lake Michigan and 1 mile on Muskegon Lake) and access to the navigation channel via an accessible walkway.
