Fully furnished and boasting a rustic feel, the Furnace Hill Lodge sleeps up to 10 people. Originally constructed in the early 1970s, the lodge was once used as the manager's residence. Nestled in the edge of the woods directly off the entrance road, the lodge offers a private setting within walking distance of the park’s historic townsite.
The lodge has cedar-framed beds (full, queen and a single-over-full bunk). In addition, a futon and pull-out (full) sofa bed are in the living area.
The kitchen includes maple cabinetry, a refrigerator, an electric stove, a microwave, a toaster and a coffeemaker. Dishes, pots, cutlery, glassware, mixing bowls and other essentials are included. A single bathroom includes a tub/shower unit, flush toilet and sink. A fuel-efficient furnace, central air conditioning, bedding, towels and all kitchen linens are included.
The lodge rents for $126/night Sunday through Thursday and $152/night Friday, Saturday and holidays, with an $10 nonrefundable reservation fee. A two-night minimum stay is required for reservations Memorial Day through Labor Day. Check-in time is 4 p.m. (EST), and check-out time is noon. All reservations must be made by direct phone contact at 906-644-2603 or in person.
Wood fires are permitted in the backyard fire circle only. Firewood is not provided but is available for purchase at the contact station.
Prior to departure, visitors are expected to vacuum, wash dishes, strip beds and clean the residence for the next set of guests. Brooms, mops and cleaning supplies are provided.
