Houghton Lake State Forest Campground
This beautiful semi-modern campground is along the northern shore of Houghton Lake and offers excellent opportunities for fishing. Located in Roscommon County, 8 miles north of Houghton Lake.
The campground is managed by North Higgins Lake State Park.

This semi-modern campground, located on the northern shore of Houghton Lake, offers excellent fishing opportunities. Houghton Lake is Michigan’s largest inland lake totaling more than 20,000 acres in size.
Amenities include a modern restroom building (no showers) and potable water from a hand-pump well. The sites are suitable for tent and small trailer use.
The campground is located 8 miles north of Houghton Lake via West Houghton Lake Drive and Old US Highway 27. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
