This beautiful semi-modern campground is along the northern shore of Houghton Lake and offers excellent opportunities for fishing. Located in Roscommon County, 8 miles north of Houghton Lake.

The campground is managed by North Higgins Lake State Park.

This semi-modern campground, located on the northern shore of Houghton Lake, offers excellent fishing opportunities. Houghton Lake is Michigan’s largest inland lake totaling more than 20,000 acres in size.

Amenities include a modern restroom building (no showers) and potable water from a hand-pump well. The sites are suitable for tent and small trailer use.

The campground is located 8 miles north of Houghton Lake via West Houghton Lake Drive and Old US Highway 27. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.

Fishing: Bullhead, crappie, largemouth bass, Northern pike, smallmouth bass, sunfish, walleye and yellow perch are caught in Houghton Lake. The boating access site for Houghton Lake is located off site. Additional nearby fishing opportunities nearby include the Muskegon River (2 miles west) and Higgins Lake (6 miles north).
