Shoepac Lake State Forest Campground
Situated on the shore of Shoepac Lake, this rustic campground offers great opportunities for paddle sports and fishing. Located in Presque Isle County, 12 miles southeast of Onaway.

Shoepac Lake is a 52-acre lake suited for fishing and paddling. The undeveloped boat launch is great for launching canoes and kayaks. Visitors can explore the natural limestone sinkholes in the area along the Sinkhole Pathway, located across the roadway near the entrance of the campground. The High Country Pathway is also located near the entrance and provides 70 miles of trail for hiking, mountain biking and wildlife viewing. The area is known for hunting and fishing and has an abundance of wildlife.
There are 25 sites for tent, small trailer and large trailer use. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. Off-road vehicles (ORVs) are not allowed in this campground. The campground is located 12 miles southeast of Onaway via M-33 South and Tomahawk Lake Highway. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
