This popular pathway winds through a slice of the Pere Marquette State Forest. It is locate in Grand Traverse County, 13 miles SE of Traverse City via Garfield Ave, Hammond Rd, High Lake Rd, Supply Rd & Rennie Lake Rd. The pathway is managed by Keith J. Charters Traverse City State Park.

The Muncie Lakes Pathway is a 9.8-mile trail system that winds through a slice of the Pere Marquette State Forest and is known as one of the most popular trails in Grand Traverse County. The trail borders the scenic Muncie Lakes and Boardman River Valley and contains four crossover spurs. In the winter it is groomed with single track for skiing and in the summer you will find plenty of mountain bikers. You’ll find yourself amongst a mixture of hardwoods, pines and upland meadows, which makes it an especially beautiful journey in the fall. Those on horseback and on foot are also permitted to enjoy the Muncie Lakes Pathway.

Watchable Wildlife

Watchable Wildlife: Visitors may see a variety of woodland creatures such as deer, coyote, fox, beaver and possibly an elusive black bear.
