Big Lake State Forest Campground-Upper
Nestled on the shore of Big Lake, this rustic campground offers opportunities for paddling, fishing and access to ORV routes. Located in Baraga County, 9.2 miles north of Covington.

This rustic campground is a perfect destination for quick access to Baraga Plains ORV Trail or fall waterfowl hunting in the Baraga Plains State Waterfowl Management Area. Nestled on the east shore of Big Lake it also provides excellent paddling and fishing opportunities.
There are 15 sites for tent and small trailer use. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. The campground is located 9.2 miles north of Covingston via M-28 West, West Plains Road and Big Lake Road.Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
