Nestled on the shore of Big Lake, this rustic campground offers opportunities for paddling, fishing and access to ORV routes. Located in Baraga County, 9.2 miles north of Covington.

This rustic campground is a perfect destination for quick access to Baraga Plains ORV Trail or fall waterfowl hunting in the Baraga Plains State Waterfowl Management Area. Nestled on the east shore of Big Lake it also provides excellent paddling and fishing opportunities.

There are 15 sites for tent and small trailer use. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. The campground is located 9.2 miles north of Covingston via M-28 West, West Plains Road and Big Lake Road.Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.

Fishing: Perch, crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass can be caught in Big Lake.
Hunting Item is accessible.
Hunting: This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. Learn more about hunting.
ORV Trails/Routes Item is accessible.
ORV Trails/Routes: Baraga Plains ORV Trail is located 1.5 miles west of the campground and offers 28 miles of cycle/ATV trail. ORVs can be ridden from your campsite to access these routes. All other ORV use within the campground is prohibited.
Paddlesports Item is accessible.
Paddlesports: Big Lake provides excellent paddling opportunities for kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. There is carry-in access within the campground.
