This 11-mile trail system, composed of three loops, is in the upland forests along the hilly border between Cheboygan and Emmet Counties. The pathway winds through heavily forested rolling hills, old railroad beds and the town of Wildwood. The pathway offers wide paths with easy curves and gentle ascents. The trails are groomed in the winter for cross-country skiing; the trail does not support skate skiing. Snowshoeing is allowed, but snowshoers are asked to stay off groomed ski tracks. Hiking and mountain biking are also popular activities along the pathway.

There are two trailheads to access the pathway. One is at the intersection of Wildwood Road and Amys Trail, 8.5 miles from Indian River via South Straits Highway, M-68 W and Parke Road. The second trail is off Wildwood Road, 6.2 miles from Indian River via South Straits Highway.

The pathway is maintained with the help of the Backpacking (dispersed camping) is allowed along the pathway. View a map of state forests and campgrounds.
