Wagner Falls Scenic Site is located just 1.5 miles south of Munising. A .1-mile packed-gravel trail and boardwalk with a few stairs leads from a small parking area to an observation platform overlooking Wagner Falls (.25 miles round-trip). There are no restrooms and no water, so please plan accordingly. Pets are welcome but must always be on a 6-foot leash and under an owner’s immediate control. All pet waste must be properly disposed of in trash receptacles.
The North Country Trail follows M-94 at Wagner Falls and enters the Hiawatha National Forest 2 miles west of the scenic site. This national scenic trail hiking route from North Dakota to New York includes more than 1,500 miles in Michigan.
The site is managed by Indian Lake State Park.
About the Area
Navigation: From Munising, follow M-28 East for 1.2 miles, then turn right onto M-94 West. Continue for .3 miles and turn left into to a small parking area for 8-10 cars.
Wagner Falls is one of the Upper Peninsula's many impressive waterfalls and is frequently visited along with other Munising area falls such as Horseshoe Falls. Laughing Whitefish Falls State Park is located 27 miles to the west along M-94.
