Alcohol Restrictions: You may not possess or consume an alcoholic beverage at any time in the park (unless the park manager has granted written authorization through an event permit).
Fishing Item is accessible.
Fishing: The park’s adjacent pier and boardwalk along the Grand River– at the mouth of the river– on the north side of the park are popular with anglers.
Metal Detecting Item is accessible.
Metal Detecting: Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that do not damage the natural and cultural resources in Michigan State Parks nor violate applicable state statutes. The entire park is open to this activity, however, any items found must be reviewed by park staff and may be retained for further investigation.
Swimming Item is accessible.
Swimming:

A designated swim area is set along the park’s entire shoreline. There is an ADA-accessible walkway to the water’s edge. There are also multiple beach wheelchairs available to borrow from the campground office.

Please be mindful of Great Lakes beach safety. Pay attention to the beach flag warning system in designated swim areas; red flags indicate the water is unsafe and no one should swim in or enter the water. DO NOT swim near or jump off of the pier and pay attention to changing conditions.

Lighthouse Item is accessible.
Lighthouse:

There are two lighthouses visible from the park and located along the pier on the park’s northern boundary. The Grand Haven Lighthouse Conservancy helps with preservation and restoration efforts, among other special projects.

Please be mindful of Great Lakes beach safety. DO NOT swim near or jump off of the pier and pay attention to changing conditions.

Modern Restrooms: There are modern restrooms located in the beach house.

Picnic Area: The picnic area is in the day-use area and includes picnic tables and charcoal grills that are available first come, first served. There is a playground adjacent to the picnic tables.

Playground: There is an accessible playground in the day-use area. It all sits on a rubberized surface that makes access easier for those of all mobility levels.
Sanitation Station Item is accessible.
Sanitation Station: The park’s sanitation station is in the campground. There is potable water available and two lanes.

Water Access:

Enjoy a half-mile of sandy shoreline on Lake Michigan on the west side of the park and the Grand River – at the mouth of the river– along the north side of the park.
