Tomahawk Lake State Forest Campground
Situated on the shore of Tomahawk Lake, this rustic campground offers great opportunities for paddle sports, fishing and hiking. Located in Presque Isle County, 13 miles southeast of Onaway.

This picturesque, rustic campground is nestled along the shore of Tomahawk Lake, a 40-acre lake known for fishing and kayaking. There is a beautiful, sandy beach area with picnic tables centrally located in the campground. Visitors can also enjoy hiking along the High Country Pathway, which passes through the campground. Many visitors enjoy the opportunity to watch a variety of birds and wildlife that live near the lake, including elk, bear and whitetail deer. The area is known for hunting.
There are 25 sites for tent, small trailer and large trailer use. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. Campers are allowed to drive off-road vehicles in and out of the campground to enjoy state forest roads and trails open to motorized use. The campground is located 13 miles southeast of Onaway via M-33 South and Tomahawk Lake Highway.Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
