This secluded, rustic campground is nestled among hardwoods on Avery Lake. Located in Montmorency County, 9 miles southwest of Atlanta.

The campgound is managed by Clear Lake State Park.

This secluded, rustic campground is nestled among hardwoods on Avery Lake. There are 16 sites for tent and small trailer use, 10 of which will accommodate a 40-foot long vehicle or trailer. Three of the sites are walk-in sites for tents only. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. The campground is located 9 miles southwest of Atlanta via County Road 487 and Avery Lake Road. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.

Fishing

Fishing: Perch, bass, pike, bluegill and walleye are caught in Avery Lake. Other nearby fishing opportunities include Crooked Lake (5 miles north) and Thunder Bay River (7 miles northeast).

This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. Learn more about hunting.

ORV Trails/Routes

ORV Trails/Routes: There are many miles of state forest roads, county roads and designated ORV trails in this area. ORVs can be ridden from your campsite to access these routes. All other ORV use within the campground is prohibited. Please be mindful that many of these routes are mixed use and may have other types of recreational visitors including equestrian use.
