The 5-mile Penosha Trail is a loop that features an oak prairie, kettle ponds, glacial erratics (glacially deposited rocks differing from the type of rocks native to the area) and up-and-down terrain. Some call it a “forested wonderland.” The trail features more difficult terrain.
Trailhead parking is located at Bishop Lake day-use area. The trailhead serves multiple trails, so your route can easily be adjusted for a variety of lengths and terrain difficulty.
