Orchard Beach-Modern Campground
Orchard Beach State Park
More Information
Due to high water and erosion, access to the beach (only available via the stairs) is closed.
Due to a planned enhancement project to renovate the toilet and shower buildings, the modern campground will close Sept. 2, 2025 for the season. If the timeline changes, the dates will be posted here. A proposed $2.5 million in federal relief funding from Gov. Whitmer's Building Michigan Together Plan made these and other renovations possible.
The modern campground is set along the 100-foot bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. Most sites are generous in size and are shaded by oaks and maples. There is 30- or 50-amp service available and a sanitation station. Recycling is available.
Although there is no direct fishing access from the park, many campers use the nearby boating access site to fish for coho and Chinook salmon in the fall and steelhead in the spring.
