The Rivermouth Modern Campground is wooded and features two loops with a variety of sites, including some accessible, paved and pull-though sites. Campers enjoy walking along the river among blueberries and wildflowers underneath massive red pines. Bicycling is a popular way to travel around the campground, to the playground and to the accessible fishing platform in the adjacent Rivermouth Pines Campground. There is 30-amp service available on each site, with some 50-amp sites available. There is a nearby boat launch, and kayaks are available to rent, first come, first served, from the Rivermouth Campground office. A sanitation station and recycling are available.

The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum is located at Whitefish Point and highlights the maritime history of the region through shipwreck stories and artifacts.

The Whitefish Point Bird Observatory is the premier bird migration hotspot in Michigan and a designated Globally Important Bird Area. Jutting out in Lake Superior, Whitefish Point acts as a natural migration corridor, bringing thousands of birds through this flyway every spring and fall.

Boat Rental: Single and tandem kayaks are available to rent from the Rivermouth Campground office on a daily, first-come, first-served basis.

Modern Restrooms: The modern restroom has six showers, restroom facilities and a family restroom.

Playground: There is a large swing set and slide on a sandy surface.

Sanitation Station

Sanitation Station: There is a sanitation station located at Rivermouth Modern Campground, open seasonally, typically mid-May through the second Sunday in October. There is potable water available and two lanes. A $10 fee will be assessed for those not camping at Tahquamenon Falls.
