More Information

To improve roads, water and sewer lines, electrical systems, the sanitation station and other park infrastructure, the park's campground is closed for renovations through June 26, 2025. A proposed $4.95 million in federal relief funding from Gov. Whitmer's Building Michigan Together Plan made these and other renovations possible.

Located in the park's modern campground and set along Lake Huron's lakefront, these hammock-only sites (sites #H66 and #H67) provide a unique camping experience. Each site includes four posts and hooks that accommodate up to four hammocks, a picnic table, electric service and a fire ring. The ground is relatively flat and sandy.

Hammock rentals (not included in the reservation fee) are available on a first-come, first-served basis by calling the park. There is a $25 deposit.

Hammocks: $20 (for the duration of the guest stay).

Suspended tent hammocks: $40 (for the duration of the guest stay).

These hammock sites were funded by campers who graciously made donations when making their reservations. Thank you!

Swimming

Swimming:

A designated swim area is in the modern campground. There is an ADA-accessible walkway to the water.

Please be mindful of Great Lakes beach safety and high-water safety. Pay attention to the beach flag warning system in designated swim areas; red flags indicate the water is unsafe and no one should swim in or enter the water.

WiFi: A free Wi-Fi hotspot is available at the campground office. There is a patio area with benches.

Electrical Service: All sites have either 20- or 30-amp service.

Modern Restrooms

Modern Restrooms: Accessible modern toilet and shower buildings are located on both the west and east sides of the campground. Each building offers a family restroom, and the building on the east side of the campground offers an outdoor dishwashing sink.
