More Information
The Swamp Line Trail winds for 2 miles south from the trailhead near the Pines Campground through several cedar and aspen tree stands and over one small creek. An out-and-back trip on this trail is an excellent choice for wildlife and wildflower viewing without having to travel excessive distances. A through excursion on the trail will take you to the intersection with South Boundary Trail, where you can choose to turn right for an all-day adventure or left for trip ranging in length from 7 to 10 miles.
As the name suggests, Swamp Line Trail does pass through some wetter areas of the park, but the trail itself is elevated enough to stay dry most of the time. With very little elevation change, this trail is considered low-intensity.
