The Thompson's Harbor Main Trail is a 6.4-mile adventure that unfolds in three scenic loops. Hike along the picturesque shoreline of Lake Huron, wind through second-growth forest and walk along sandy dunes. The trail then delves into unique terrain shaped by the underlying limestone bedrock, offering a glimpse into the geological forces that sculpted this landscape.

This park provides critical habitat for two sensitive species: the federally and state-threatened dwarf lake iris, Michigan's state wildflower, and the Eastern massasauga rattlesnake, a species of special concern protected by state law.
