This 1-mile trail, located near the Rivermouth campgrounds, is not yet completed. Traveling along the banks of Tahquamenon Bay, where the Tahquamenon River empties into Lake Superior, this trail passes through black spruce and shrub swamp, following the road that leads to the abandoned sawmill town of Emerson. The last 200 feet to Whitefish Bay is difficult to navigate, but not impossible. However, the beginning of the trail is an excellent location to listen for songbirds, including warblers, and grouse.
