Located near Muskallonge Lake State Park, the Pretty Lake Pathway provides a beautiful setting for hiking, biking or skiing adventures. With almost 2.2 miles of trail, the pathway provides access to the chain of lakes in the designated Pretty Lake Quiet Area, which is exclusively open to non-motorized activities. Pretty Lake is the northern most lake in a series of seven lakes. The pathway provides an opportunity to explore the others which can only be accessed by foot. The trailhead is located 25 miles northwest of Newberry via M-123 and County Roads 407 and 416.
There are eight walk-in campsites off the pathway that are part of the Pretty Lake State Forest Campground, Sites #22-24 are on Beaverhouse Lake. Sites #25-26 are on Camp 8 Lake. Sites #19-#21 are in between Long Lake and Camp 8 Lake. Campers are required to register at Pretty Lake state forest campground before occupying a walk-in site.
