Michigan's Dragon Trail – located along the Hardy Dam in the Newaygo and Mecosta Counties – is jointly managed by the Newaygo and Mecosta county park commissions. It's a popular destination for mountain biking, but also open and ideal for hiking, running, dog sledding and other nonmotorized activities.
A 2-mile stretch (segment 2) goes through Newaygo State Park featuring overviews of the Hardy Dam Pond. The best access point in the park is the boating access site parking lot.
The final trail system will be a 47-mile linear trail. You can view segments that are open, partically complete and planned for the future.
West Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance (WMMBA) assists with routine maintenance of this world-class trail system.
