To accommodate electrical upgrades, Brimley State Park's modern campground is closed through May 21, 2024. Further upgrades to water lines and the storm water system will cause the campground and day-use area to close later this fall (Sept. 3, 2024). The campground is slated to reopen May 19, 2025 and the day-use area is slated for June 25, 2025.

This mini cabin has electricity and sleeps four people on two sets of single bunk beds. The cabin has electricity and lighting along with a mini refrigerator, microwave, box fan and electric space heater. There is no water, but modern restrooms with showers are available seasonally within the campground. A picnic table, fire pit and charcoal grill can be found outdoors. You must provide your own linens. Pets are not allowed.

From I-75, take exit 386 and come to M-28 heading west for 7 miles. Turn right at the M-28 and M-221 intersection and travel for 2 miles. Turn right at 6 Mile Road and travel three-quarters of a mile to the park entrance on left.

Brimley State Park is a great home base for exploring local attractions, including two national fish hatcheries and the Hiawatha National Forest, as well as regional destinations. Sault Ste. Marie and the Soo Locks are located 15 miles from the park, along with the Tower of History, the Museum Ship Valley Camp, U.S. Coast Guard Station and International Bridge. The park is within 60 miles of Tahquamenon Falls State Park, Mackinac Island and Fort Mackinac Historic Park and the Mackinac Bridge. Indian Lake State Park and Kitch-iti-kipi or the “Big Spring” at Palms Book State Park are also popular regional destinations.

Modern Restrooms

Modern Restrooms: The cabin is located near the east restroom building within the campground. Modern restrooms are open seasonally, typically mid-May to mid-October. When the modern restrooms are closed for the season, the campground becomes semi-modern and vault toilets are available along with water for filling jugs from a frost-free spigot located at the park headquarters.
