Due to a planned enhancement project to upgrade the toilet and shower building, sanitation station, drain field and park's electrical system, the modern campground and cabins will close May 1 to Oct. 31, 2025. A proposed $3.9 million in federal relief funding from Gov. Whitmer's Building Michigan Together Plan made these and other renovations possible.

The Ionia camper cabins include the Walleye and Mallard cabins. Both cabins come with their own canoe and have their own deck and private beach on Sessions Lake. The cabins have two bedrooms, with one bunk bed, one full-size bed and one futon, which sleeps up to six people. A kitchenette, bathroom with shower, grill and fire pit are included with each cabin. The camper cabins are also ADA- accessible. Pets are not allowed.
