There are six rustic, one-room cabins tucked away among the birch and pine woodlands at Presque Isle. Each cabin requires a short walk or hike from the trailhead (shortest walk is 100 yards, and longest walk is .75 miles). The terrain is mostly flat, and the trail is marked.

Each one-room cabin sleeps up to eight people and is equipped with two double bunk beds, a wood-heating stove, a table and benches, and a fire circle. There is no running water or electricity, but a hand pump for water is available. A vault toilet is located nearby.

You must provide your own light source, cooking equipment, eating utensils and bedding and/or sleeping bags.

Please note: Firewood is provided for indoor use Sept. 15-June 1. All other times, you may gather and use dead or fallen wood or purchase from a local vendor.
