Situated on the shore of Forest Lake, this rustic campground offers great opportunities for paddle sports and fishing. Located in Alger County, 9.6 miles south of Au Train.

This rustic campground is located on Forest Lake. The lake offers excellent fishing and paddling opportunities. Most campsites are right on the water’s edge and offer direct access to the lake. There is a boat launch and a large day-use area on the south side of the campground. The campground is fewer than 20 miles to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

There are 26 sites for tent, small trailer and large trailer use. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. The campground is located 9.6 miles south of Au Train via Autrain Forest Lake Road and Storage Basin Road. Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.

Fishing: Pike, walleye and bass are caught in Forest Lake. Nearby fishing opportunities include Ackerman Lake (five miles northeast) and Au Trail Lake (seven miles north).

Hunting: This campground provides access to state land open to hunting. Firearm hunting is not allowed within 450 feet of an occupied dwelling. Learn more about hunting.

Paddling: Explore Forest Lake from the campground. Carry-in access is located 50 yards from the parking area on the south side of the campground or directly from the campsites.
