Kingston Lake State Forest Campground
Situated on the shore of Kingston Lake, this rustic campground offers great opportunities for paddle sports and fishing. Located in Alger County, 18.8 miles southeast of Grand Marais.

This rustic campground is situated on a peninsula in Kingston Lake on the northern edge of the Kingston Plains, a sea of stumps that recalls the logging boom of the late 1800s. The campground, almost entirely surrounded by water, is popular with paddlers.
The Fox River Pathway takes visitors four miles to Lake Superior or 27.5 miles to Seney. A boat launch and a picnic area are located on the northeast side of the campground. Kingston Lake is the closest state forest campground to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Visitors can travel east or west on H-58 directly from the campground to explore the park.
There are 16 sites for tent and small trailer use. Camping is limited to a 15-day maximum stay. Amenities include vault toilets and potable water from a hand-pump well. The campground is located 18.8 miles southwest of Grand Marais via H-58.Sites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No reservations.
