The 18-mile Little Presque Isle Pathway system boasts multiple access points and trailhead parking lots. A portion of the North Country Trail, the nation’s longest scenic trail, meets up with this trail.

There are five main trailheads located along the same 1.5-mile stretch of County Road 550:

  • Little Presque Isle Point Trailhead – one of two trailheads that have a vault toilet and self registration; provides the most direct route to the point.
  • Song Bird Trail Trailhead.
  • Wetmore Landing Trailhead - one of two trailheads that have a vault toilet and self registration; provides the most direct route to the Lake Superior shoreline.
  • Beagle Club Trailhead.
  • Wetmore Pond Trailhead.

Cross Country Ski Item is accessible.
Cross Country Ski: Cross-county skiing is a popular activity on the trail; however, the trails are not groomed.

Mountain Biking Item is accessible.
Mountain Biking: All trails on the west side of County Road 550 are open to mountain biking. The terrain is considered technical with many elevation changes. From Dec.1 to April 1 only, fat-tire bikes are allowed on certain trails on the east side of 550 (refer to printed maps at trailhead).
Snowshoeing Item is accessible.
Snowshoeing: Trails are not groomed, but please be courteous and avoid cross-country ski tracks if visible.
