The Chief Noonday Trail, named after a famous Ottawa Indian Chief who resided in the area, is located in the Yankee Springs Recreation Area in Barry County. The 4-mile trail begins just off of Chief Noonday Road and travels to the Devil’s Soup Bowl and loops back. The trail comes along the McDonald Lake Overlook, giving visitors a picturesque view of the area and its surroundings. Part of the Chief Noonday Trail also runs concurrently with the North Country Trail. Hiking and cross-country skiing are both permitted along the Chief Noonday Trail.
