The trail contains a variety of ups and downs as it follows many of the dune ridges. Visitors will be able to catch a scenic view of the city of Muskegon along the journey, as well as a blowout, or an open area on the dune ridge that is the result of vegetation disturbance. If you are looking to lengthen your journey, this scenic route is also connects to the Lost Lake Trail and the Hearty Hiker Trail. The trailhead is located in the north parking lot of the blockhouse.
