Sterling - River Raisin Heritage (connector) Trail
Sterling State Park
The 1-mile River Raisin Heritage (connector) Trail – sometimes referred to as the Wetlands Trail – connects Sterling State Park to the River Raisin Heritage Trail.
More Information
Significant improvements are underway on the park's Marsh Trail and River Raisin Heritage Connector Trail, including erosion remediation, tree root removal, pavement resurfacing, bridge repairs, and new amenities like signage, bike racks, repair stations and benches. The project is expected to continue through July 2025, but the timeline may be adjusted based on construction progress. A proposed $4 million in federal relief funding from Gov. Whitmer's Building Michigan Together Plan made these and other renovations possible. Other funding was provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, MDOT and Monroe County.
