More Information
The Yankee Springs Recreation Area equestrian trail system is quite extensive and is made up of 3 different loops, varying in length from 4 to 9 miles. The trails wind through forests, alongside lakes and pass by creeks providing riders with a varied and challenging equestrian experience.
At each loop trailhead, there is a staging area. The 9-mile and 6-mile loops begin near the equestrian campground, just south of Duffy Road. The 4-mile loop begins west of the campground off of Duffy Road.
The trails connect to an additional 9 miles of trails in the neighboring Barry State Game Area (available to equestrian riders in the summer months).
For those wanting to explore the trails more extensively, there are camping opportunities at the Yankee Springs Equestrian Campground.
The camground and trails are maintained with the help of the Yankee Springs Trail Riders Association, which was formed in 1997 to preserve, protect and improve the equestrian amenities at the park.
