Wilderness-Bunkhouses
Wilderness State Park
More Information
There are three rustic bunkhouses located near the Pine Campground that were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the late 1930s. Each one-room bunkhouse sleeps 24 in 12 bunkbeds and is equipped with a cafeteria-style folding table, 12 chairs and a wood stove (wood is provided during colder months for heat). There is electricity in the bunkhouses, but no running water; however, water is available in the nearby campground May through mid-October and at park headquarters in the winter. There are lights, a ceiling fan and outlets, but no refrigerator. You must provide your own linens and towels, cookware, plates and utensils. There is a fire pit, picnic table and large charcoal grill outside. There are vault toilets nearby.
Guests are expected to clean the cabin, toilets and surrounding area before checking out. All garbage is to be removed to the dumpsters that are located along the drive to the bunkhouses.
Limited parking is available year-round.
