This page is intended for DNR staff to upload DNR related photos and videos to the DNR photo gallery. When you upload your images/videos you are saying that they are yours and that the DNR has the right to use them for any DNR related project or promotion as well as to redistribute them. More info on that may be found elsewhere on the page.
After ensuring images are properly sorted they will appear on a public facing photo gallery.
How does it work?
Use the links below to upload your images or videos.
You'll need to tag them when you upload them, so do them in batches. For instance, all the salmon pictures in one upload, and then all the brook trout in another, etc.
DO NOT TAG ALL OF YOUR IMAGES LAMPREY JUST BECAUSE ONE IMAGE CONTAINS A LAMPREY
Upload the lamprey image separately and tag it then.
Imagine you're searching the site for pictures of lampreys and all these pictures with no lamprey keep coming up. That's the opposite of helpful.
Instructions can be found elsewhere on this page.

Can't be bothered with all the details? We get it. Use the link below but give your images a good description in the upload process. If we can't tell what they are and you haven't described them properly, they won't make it into the collection.
Select a topic from the list that matches your picture(s) or video(s). If you have more than one subject in your media you will want to upload them in batches; for instance, all the deer hunting photos/videos at once, then all the duck hunting, etc.. Click the topic link from the list.
On the page that opens, click Upload Files, browse to the file(s) that you want to upload, select them and click the Open button.
In the new dialog that opens there are four fields, two of them are required, Description and Tags, and two are optional, Keywords and Author.
Description: give us a good description of your image(s). If you're doing a bunch of images at once, they'll all get the same description.
Keywords: these are preset, you just choose from a list. They can be used to help filter a search once they're in place.
Tags: these are important, tag your images with words that match the content, like sunrise, campground, firepit, etc. If the picnic table is way off in the background, don't tag it, just things that make up the subject of the photo.
Author: that's you, include your name if you'd like, it's not required.
Click Apply and then it'll take forever to upload if you're connected to VPN, so disconnect, and just wait until it's done to see if there are any errors.
When done uploading, the images will disappear and it will look like nothing happened. That's good! Success.
By uploading images or videos, you are representing that you have rights and permissions to use these images and to give the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) rights and permission to display these images for marketing and informational purposes with regards to any and all DNR related matters. Documentation to show proof of these rights and permissions is to be presented to the DNR upon request.
You further agree to indemnify and hold the DNR, their employees, agents, officers, directors, successors, licensees and assigns (together, the Indemnified Parties) harmless against any liabilities and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) Indemnified Parties may incur as a result of claims and/or proceedings relating to the use of the images uploaded.
